Setting up CANDDi

Is there any specific requirements to install CANDDi?
Very little:

  • The website must not be flash based
  • The CANDDi Javascript must be installed as provided on each page that needs to be tracked. We recommend putting the tracker in the header or footer of each page.

How do I install CANDDi?
CANDDi is very easy to install: just add the lines of javascript provided by CANDDi in the header or footer of each of the pages of your website.

Do I need to make changes to my website other than pasting the tracking code?
No in most cases. However we recommend the following for getting the maximum value from CANDDi:

  • All forms on the website have explicit field nomenclature and are the same across the website (eg. email for "email"). We automatically recognise most of them but we would struggle automatically knowing what "Input_24" means.
  • Login section should be accessed using an email to maximise the capture of identity for your customers.
  • All downloads should be made by an explicit click on a link pointing to the file (we cannot track the downloads triggered on a form submission). In the case of download AFTER a form submission (eg. to capture an email before a download) then the user must be asked to click on the download link after the form submission.
  • All product pages if any should follow the same HTML structure.

Data recorded by CANDDi

How does can CANDDi identify visitors?
CANDDi can identify visitors by capturing data from a form or a login section on your website. capturing data from a click on a link with a tracking code pointing towards your website.

How do I track emails?
You can embed a tracking code in URLs, such as you would do with the Google Analytics utm_ codes. Use the “Create tracking URL” functionality in your dashboard to generate the tracking URL to embed has hyperlinks in your emails or newsletters.

I don’t have the same number of visitors in CANDDi and Google Analytics or another analytics software
It is expected to see minor differences between tracking solutions. For example it could be due to improper set up (pages missing the tracking code for example), visitor leaving a page before the tracking information is sent for processing, different IP filtering settings between trackers, cookie duration between the trackers and multiple other factors.

CANDDi captures the company name corresponding to the location where the visitor is accessing your website from. Some are companies and some are internet service provider (ISP), for example when browsing from home. Most ISPs are filtered for your convenience and replaced by “Unknown”.

Why not all identified visitors have a picture or social profile?
CANDDi does a lookup on social networks based on information publicly available on a visitors. If the information provided by the visitor matches social profiles in the database we’re using then the information will be displayed on the dashboard.

Why a profile has two or more emails
CANDDi assign a specific computer to a visitor and attach to this visitor all the information captured from this computer. A conflict can occur when a given computer provided 2 different contact details on your website.
